Brief Guide to the Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry

Abstract

The article presents a Croatian translation of the IUPAC Brief Guide to the Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry which provides a short overview of the most important rules of organic chemistry nomenclature according to the 2013 IUPAC recommendations. The article contains updates and corrections of the Croatian editions IUPAC Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry, recommendations of the SKHT (now HDKI) from 1985 and 1988, and A Guide to IUPAC Nomenclature of Organic Compounds, recommendations of the HDKI and HKD from 2001, which are translations of the corresponding IUPAC editions from 1979 and 1993. The purpose of this translation is to align the Croatian nomenclature of organic chemistry with the current IUPAC recommendations from 2013.
